Mummy, I have a question...

Dearest Mummy,

Few nights ago, I was asking God to show me who He was and how much He loves me. God kept quiet for a while and He showed me a picture of you and me taken together. Then he said 'just see how much your mummy loves you and mutiply it by 10 times.' I have not learn maths yet so I asked God to tell me more. He laughed and said "I love you so much that I will give you anything that you ask." 'Wow" I told God: "I want to have my first toy car" then suddenly I was woken up by your voice..."It's milk milk time"...

Mummy, do you think God will give me the toy car? I have not finish my conversation with him yet...

I am backed!! Sorry Daddy was just too busy with me...

Dear Uncles and Aunties,

So sorry to keep everyone waiting for my latest post....I was just too busy having a great time with Daddy! As you can see from my expression I am learning to say 'hi' to all of you..Its just matter of time before I can give you a flying kiss...muak muak muak!!!

I have been such a good boy to daddy and mummy (that's what they say..) Never make parenting as difficult as described by all those books and TV show daddy and mummy are watching. Daddy and mummy seems to be addicted to my smell...they keep smelling me when they are back home...but I love it too...Daddy's 'bawu' smells great...heehee.

I am turning 6 months in 2 weeks time. Everything is going on really well except that I had a little flu last week but doctor told me it's ok once I take my medicines. So I never cry when I take the medicines..I know it's for my good. I love it when mummy praises me "good boy" after that.

I want to tell the world and all of you...I have a happy family..Daddy sing this song by Barney to me almost everyday and he can sing it for many many times (he is a great singer but I wonder if he should start learning another song soon..) BUT I never get bored listening to daddy.

Please let me know that you love me by writing to me. I will love to talk to you soon. Recently, I have been observing how you adults speak...my turn to speak is coming SOON!!..heehee..

Have a great week everyone!!!

Fatherhood

Grandfather, Father & Son

Dearest Josiah,

Wow...look at how much you have grown. I am so thankful that you are growing so healthily and giving us a wonderful time caring for you. Well Josiah, do not think that you are only 6 weeks old and you can't teach daddy and mummy any lesson in life. Daddy learnt so much from you over this period and more than that, you make me realised who God is and His love for us.

Do you know that there was a night you were crying and feeling uncomfortable, Daddy was so so exhausted and really had no energy to carry you, I picked you up gently and placed you on my chest. Immediately, as you heard my heartbeat and felt my warm breath, you quieten down and fell into a peaceful sleep. Daddy was so moved at that moment.

I don't think I am a perfect dad, but I know no matter how tired or busy I can be, when you cry out for me, my immediate response is YOU! I think that is how God is to us. Very often, just like you, as we cry out our heart, and think who will come to our help; immediately, God responses. Fatherhood is His nature and His nature is fatherhood. How often do we realise that the moment we "cry out" to Him, we are actually already in His arms, leaning on His chest, His heartbeat comforts us, His breathe tells us He is with us.

Daddy brought you out for the very 1st time 2 week ago. As I carry you in my arms, I was so proud to show you to all the uncles and aunties. "SEE MY SON!!" That very moment, a strong thought struck my mind...once again, we serve a God that loves to parade us. WE ARE HIS PRECIOUS CHILDREN!! What an awesome encouragement that can be!!

Think about this, why can't we call God "Uncle", "Sir" "Mister" and etc. The reason lies in a relationship no other word can replace and that is Abba Father.

Josiah, if people ask me what is the greatest calling a man can possess, I will undeniably say it is Fatherhood

Josiah, Daddy & Mummy love you.

Daddy' & Mummy precious Josiah

Dear Josiah,

I want to pen down my thoughts in your blog this morning because the feeling of having you around is too awesome. Many uncles and aunties asked me how I felt when I first saw you and having you around in my arms. To be honest, it's just to much for me to express through any words.

It was an amazing feeling when we had our 1st father and son session this morning "sun bathing" together. I had a picture of you taken in a very cool pose..ha...Yesterday night was also your first night with us and you really make mummy worked very hard. We woke up almost every hour to feed you and change you. I guessed its tough and tiring but seeing you sound asleep each time literally took away our stress and anxiety.

There are many thing God can give us in our lifetime but it is till this moment, I realised that the greatest of all that he can give us beside His love through Jesus is a child. I was talking to mummy yesterday night that I could not fully understand the love of God to me till I am became a father myself. And of course, if the bible says that "even an earthly father can give their children what they need, how much more is our heavenly Father."

Looking forward to spend many days together. We may not be perfect parents but we want to be parents who can demostrate the perfect love of God in your life.

Josiah, Daddy and Mummy love you.

Baby Josiah 37th Week (Full Term)

Hi Josiah,

Finally you are all ready to come into this world. This afternoon, Daddy and Mummy visited Dr Tan to see your progress and we are so thrill to know that you are in "position" to come out soon! Mummy is already 2 cm dilated and has been getting false contraction for the last 2 weeks. All the discomfort is for the preparation of your arrival. Are you feeling really comfortable in Mummy's womb?

Daddy and mummy got your bed all fixed up, its just right in front of our own bed. Every night, we will stare into the empty bed and allow our imagination to run wild; seeing you there and hearing your cries for our attention. Josiah, its not too long before our imagination will turn into a reality. Do you know we have been waiting so long for this day...

Dr Tan says that you can come out any time and you weigh over 3kg now, all ready to pop out! We have been trying to guess when is your birthday but i think we are going to leave it all to you when you want your birthday to be. Daddy and Mummy will continue to wait patiently..maybe the next time I write to you will be the time you are right in my arms...

Josiah, Daddy and Mummy love you.

Baby Josiah 34th Week

Dear Josiah,

Daddy has not been writing to you for a long while but I know you have been listening to our voices. Can you recognise daddy's voice? Daddy also gets the chance to touch you as you push and shove your way in mummy’s belly. Sometimes, I see your little fist and feet bulging from Mummy’s belly when you move. Is it very cramp inside there? Don't worry k, you are coming out soon. Mummy has been feeling a lot of discomfort especially as you get bigger now. Last 2 weeks, daddy went for a short working trip and Daddy was thinking of you and mummy while I was there. I got you a nice green giraffe to add to your safari theme room.

Daddy and Mummy packed the room last night and washed all your clothing. Mummy took quite a while to fold all the clothes into your new cabinet and they smell so nice. We can’t wait to put on these tiny clothes on you.

Mummy has been feeling a lot of discomfort recently especially as you get bigger each day. You weigh about 2.5kg now and growing bigger each day. I guessed it’s through all these, the bonding of a mother and child relationship is so special and close. The joy of having you exceeds the pain and discomfort mummy is going through. Give mummy a smooth and fast delivery k? We will be cheering for you.. We are counting down every single minute. 38 more days to the arrival of a history maker!!

Josiah, Daddy and Mummy love you.

Baby Josiah 30th Week

Dear Josiah,

Daddy has not been writing to you for quite a while but I am sure you are having a great time "playing" with Daddy and Mummy. I was so fascinated last night when I saw you moving vigorously in mummy's womb whenever I called your name.
Daddy has also been busy setting up your room with Auntie Carol, auntie Wen Shan and many other uncles and aunties who came to help daddy and mummy. Uncles and Aunties took a lot of effort to do up the room for you. We painted many cute animals and the whole picture is a replica of "Noah Ark" , that is a nice bible story daddy will read to you when you are born. Auntie Carol drew the sharks that look like they are smiling; the zebras and the chubby Koalas were very cute too. When you grow up, you got to say a big thank you to them for making your room so beautiful!

Daddy also read a book "playing with your new born". The more I read, the more I look forward to your arrival. Daddy and Mummy bought you some nice Disney clothes and bath set. Auntie Yah Lan also bought you a nice bath tub for you to "swim" in haha... So many people are doting you already even before your arrival, I am sure you will be a very blessed boy!

Recently, I read a verse from Psa 127:3 and it says “Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. I thank God that He has given you to our lives. Indeed, a very precious reward!!

71 more days to go and Daddy and Mummy's hearts are filled with anticipation to receive this reward from God. Grow well and Grow strong darling!

Josiah, Daddy and Mummy love you.

Baby Josiah 25th Week

Dear Josiah,

Daddy and Mummy attended our ever first Antenatal class to learn about you last Thursday. It was so exciting to see so many parents gathering together to learn how to take care of their little ones when they are born. The class teacher was very professional and experience as she shared with us many things. She made me put on a funny ' belly suit' that will allow me to experience how mummy feels when she carry you. Now I know it's certainly a big, big sacrifice and hard work for mummy and not to mention the other effects of pregnancy. When you grow up, please really treasure and love mummy k!

The teacher taught me the steps to communicate with you by gently massaging Mummy's belly. 4 very easy steps and you will respond to me. It was an awesome experience and I kept doing it when we were back home. You won't believe how I must have felt as you responded to my touch each time. Josiah, it's only 3 more months and the threesome family life starts in this house. Daddy, mummy and Josiah.

Josiah, Daddy and Mummy love you.
